I agree. Wrapping a sheet around your hand is very bad practice. Just asking for a gust of wind to come and trap, then crush, your hand against the block 
when triming the main sheet bring your main sheet hand to your tiller hand, pinch the sheet, and then grab more main sheet.

haha funny stuff this has happened to me a couple of times. but also a little bit of advise… have u ever heard of trimming with two hands instead of raping it around one.. u use the tiller extention hand and sheet in with that.. it prevents a lot of mishaps and also it trims in the sail faster and does not hurt ur hand
yea 420s are where its at
You capsized because your outhaul is too loose and hiking strap is too tight… you are being over-powered and you can’t compensate by hiking out effectively…. Also, it is not a good idea to twist the mainsheet around your hand.. it prevents you from releasing your mainsheet quickly… good luck…
