The largest gathering of Laser 28 sailboats for years took place on Sept 22-23 2007 on the Memphremagog Lake in Magog, QC, Canada. Over 100 sailors to handle 16 racing machines by medium to strong winds!

Weta trimaran, 2 up, catching Laser DDW in light wind

The cameraman is in Laser by himself sailing DDW or dead-down-wind. Catamarans and trimarans are slowest on this point of sail but the 3 sails on the weta trimaran still catch enough wind that even with 2 people on board it makes ground on the laser before reaching off for more speed but worse VMG, velocity-made-good

Laser Midwinters West 2011 Training

kylemartinlasersailing.blogspot.com Laser midwinter west was a great event. The event was put on by California Yacht Club in LA. We got there 4 days early for training. We had light winds for training but the first day of the regatta brought great winds. It was colder and wetter that average in LA this year but the sun was out for the last day. I finished 10th out of 47 boats my best Midwinters west finish yet. All video shot on a GoPro HD Hero. Music: Kevin MacLeod
