Malgré le forfait pour blessure du parrain de l’épreuve , Yvan Bourgnon,qui a malgré tout tenu à être présent, les trois jours de conditions variables de 6 à 20 noeuds, sous les grains ou grand soleil, ont permis aux coureurs de cette 2ème édition du raid de ronce les bains de courir 8 manches et d’offrir aux spectateurs un joli spectacle. Une remontée de Seudre magnifique avec près de 50 virements au retour, un contournement de Fort Boyard sous la pluie et une dernière journée du côté des bancs de sable de Gatseau à la pointe sud de l’île d’oléron, ont donné aux participants un aperçu de l’étendu des possibilités de navigation sur ce plan qui de l’avis de tous est très technique.

Hot firefly 850 Sports Catamaran Racing in the 23rd King’s Cup 2009. In this clip the wind is around 18 to 22 knots gusting to 25 knots. The footage shows the cats reaching through some choppy seas where there is wind against tide creating some great action. The 4 Firefly’s are shown in order in both real time and in slow motion. First is Twin Sharks (winner of this years firefly division), 2nd Sea Property, 3rd Voodoo Child and 4th Moto Inzi. There are a number of still frames of each cat which really shows the how these fast 28 footers give their crews a real exciting ride.
