I feel your pain…having pitchpoled in 20knts wind out in a big sea, we should never have been out there ! giftwrapped the boat with the kit like you guys we spent best part of 45 mins getting her upright again !

The method I’ve been taught is for one of the crew to straighten their arms agains that rack and use their bouyancy to stop it capsizing the other way, while the other crew runs across the boat onto the opposite wing and sorts everything out…

Its a bit scary when the wing just pushes you under though…..

would it have helped if the lads had turned the bow into the wind before trying to upright the boat ?

i just started sailing these ! nightmare would it not have helped turning the bow into the wind ? it must have been blowing a gale !
